For people who use or know someone that wears hearing aids, it is extremely important to keep them charged! However, this can also be extremely wasteful. Well, now there is a company that made a product aimed to lessen the harsh environmental impact of hearing aids. The company Solar Ear made a Solar Powered Hearing Aid – as opposed to hearings aids that waste batteries, these aids use batteries that can be recharged up to 300 times - that helps to cut down on unnecessary waste. Better yet, the hearing aids are affordable as well, so they won’t burn a hole in your pocket. Read more below:
Product description:
Brazilian-based Solar Ear has come up with an innovative design for affordable solar powered hearing aids. The Solar Ear utilizes two rechargeable AA batteries that are charged via Solar Ear’s solar power battery and hearing aid recharger.
The batteries are fully charged within six to eight hours, providing the hearing aid user with an estimated week of hearing time before the unit needs to be recharged. The batteries can be recharged up to 300 times, providing several years of battery use compared with traditional hearing aid batteries which require weekly battery changes.
